# How It Works

> **The Megapot app is winding down.** Ticket purchasing, autoplay, add funds, and new signups are no longer available in the app. Existing tickets still enter daily drawings. Megapot is a daily lottery with a simple premise: pick your numbers, buy a ticket, and see if you win. Here's what you need to know.

## The Basics

* **\$1 per ticket** — That's it.
* **Daily drawings** — A new drawing every single day.
* **Pick your numbers** — Choose 5 numbers plus 1 bonusball, to win one of 10 different prize tiers.

## What You're Trying to Match

Each drawing produces 6 winning numbers: 5 main numbers and 1 bonusball.

* **Match more numbers = bigger prizes.** The more numbers you match, the more you win.
* **The bonusball multiplies your chances.** It creates extra ways to win across multiple prize tiers.

You don't need to match everything to win something.

## Prize Tiers

Megapot has **10 different prize tiers**, ranging from a USDC cash prize all the way up to the jackpot.

* Match just a few numbers? You still win.
* Match all 5 numbers plus the bonusball? You hit the jackpot.
* **1 in 4 tickets wins something** — those are pretty good odds.

The lowest tier (bonus ball only) now pays **USDC cash**. It no longer awards a free ticket.

## Daily Drawings

* Drawings happen **once per day**, every day.
* Results are posted **immediately** after each drawing.
* You can check your tickets right away to see if you won.

## Claiming Winnings

Won something? Great. Most claims are instant.

* **Check your tickets** after each drawing to see your results.
* **Claim** directly to your wallet, in most cases instantly.
* The prize winnings you take out of Megapot add up over time. While your total is $500 or less, you need only a short one-time identity check. Once it goes over $500, [full verification](https://docs.megapot.io/learn/kyc.md) applies, and a claim waits while a check is outstanding.

Your winnings are yours the moment you claim them.
